ATHENS, Ga. - The University of Dayton softball team opened play at the 14th Annual Georgia Classic with two wins Friday. UD got past ULM, 1-0, and defeated NKU, 11-8, in come-from-behind fashion.
Dayton improves to 5-2 on the young season while ULM moves to 5-2 and Northern Kentucky is 0-1.

Dayton 11, Northern Kentucky 8
Northern Kentucky got off to a quick start in its first game of the season, leading Dayton 5-0 heading into the bottom of the third. The Flyers came alive, scoring two in the third and three in the fourth to even the score at five runs each. In the bottom of the sixth, UD exploded for six runs, pulling in front 11-5. NKU rallied in the top of the seventh, scoring three, but could not overcome the deficit as Dayton held on for the 11-8 win.
