DAYTON BEGINS THE NCAA TOURNAMENT VERSUS WICHITA STATE

The University of Dayton Flyers will face the No. 19 Wichita State Shockers in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament on Friday, March 17 at 7:10 p.m. ET.
The game will be televised on CBS, carried by WHIO Radio and is available with live video, stats and streaming audio at DaytonFlyers.com.

ABOUT WICHITA STATE

The Shockers, 30-4 overall, reached the 30-win mark for the fourth time in five years and enter postseason play on a 15-game winning streak.
Three Shockers are scoring in double figures led by Markis McDuffie (11.8 ppg). Landry Shamet (11.1 ppg) and Darral Willis Jr. (10.2 ppg) add to the attack.

SERIES HISTORY

Dayton leads the all-time series 2-0.
The last meeting between the two programs came when the Flyers defeated Wichita State, 79-71, in the NIT First Round on March, 15, 1962.

Dayton has won five NCAA Tournament games in the past three years, one of 18 schools to accomplish that feat.
This is the first time the Flyers have made the NCAA Tournament in four straight seasons.
Miller is one of five active coaches who had at least five NCAA wins in his first four seasons. The others are Mark Few, Thad Matta, Shaka Smart and Roy Williams.

Since the start of the 2013-14 season, UD is 34-15 in games decided by five points or less.
Scoochie Smith is averaging a team-best 15.7 points and 5.0 assists in his last six games.
