DAYTON – The University of Dayton picked up their ninth win of the season with a win over Northern Kentucky on Wednesday, beating the Norse 10-3 at Spectrum Stadium.

KEY MOMENT
- Dayton's effort in the first inning was the difference in the game. The Flyers were able to get six runs across in large part thanks to two two-RBI singles from Tate Hagan and Pat Meehan. 

SCORING BREAKDOWN
Top 1st 
- NKU started the scoring with an unearned run in the first inning, putting the Norse up 1-0. 

Bottom 1st 
- UD scored six runs on four hits, three walks, and a hit-by-pitch to go along with the two two-run singles, sending the Flyers in front 6-1.

Top 2nd
- NKU led the inning off with a leadoff double and later scored on an RBI single, cutting into the Dayton lead, 6-2. 

Bottom 2nd 
- Brandon Smith continued UD's hot batting with a two-run homerun.

Top 3rd 
- NKU scored their second run on a balk. 

Bottom 5th
- Matt Poland started the inning with an infield hit, was sacrificed to second, stole third, and scored on an RBI single by Connor Echols.

Bottom 8th 
- Brad Burkhart singled, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on an RBI single from Brandon Smith. 

KEY STATS
- Brandon Smith hit his team leading fourth Homerun on a two-run shot that put Dayton up 8-2.

- This is the first-time Dayton has played Northern Kentucky at Spectrum Stadium. Two years ago Dayton hosted the Northern Kentucky, but the game was moved to Athletes in Action in Xenia, Ohio because of weather.

Dayton will continue A-10 conference play this weekend when they head to Olean, N.Y. to face St. Bonaventure for a three-game series. The first of the three games will take place at Fred Handler Park on Friday, March 24 at 3:00 PM.
