AKRON, Ohio - The University of Dayton softball team split its doubleheader at Akron Wednesday evening, winning the first game 7-3 and dropping the second 4-2 (5) after lightning ended it early.
Dayton is now 24-19 on the season while Akron moves to 20-23 overall.

In the midst of a sixth-inning comeback, Dayton had tied the game at four runs apiece when the game was delayed due to lightning. Sophomore
Kyle Davidson had doubled followed by a homerun by senior
Katie Ryan to even the score. The game could not be resumed due to darkness so the offensive half inning for the Flyers was erased.
