DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team split its doubleheader with Massachusetts on Senior Day, dropping the first game, 6-3, and taking the second game, 11-3, in five innings. The Flyers are now 28-25 on the season and 12-10 in Atlantic 10 conference games while the Minutewomen move to 26-21 overall and 13-5 in league action.
Three senior team members were recognized between games:
Hannah DeSalvo,
Katie Ryan and
Gabrielle Snyder.
KEY MOMENT
Leading by seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning of the second game, Ryan's single proved to be a game-ending hit as sophomore
Kelly Fitzgerald scored the winning run.

Jaclyn Kweder's double in the second game gave Dayton a team total of 89 on the season, just one off tying the program record
5 - with her first home run of the season, sophomore
Lisa Tassi recorded a grand slam in game two to account for four of her five RBI on the day

Manda Cash tallied four strikeouts to only one walk in five innings of work
3 - Tassi was one of three Flyers with three hits on the day; she posted a .500 batting average and scored two runs
3-for-3 - the Flyers were a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts
