PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The University of Dayton rowing team took fifth place at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Rowing Championship on the Cooper River.

Kayla Contardi was named First Team All-Atlantic 10 and senior
Madison Doty earned second team honors.

"We are proud of our athletes, not only this weekend, but the entire race season. They have been able to continually grow and improve upon each race," said UD Novice Coach
Emilie Gross. "This weekend, they worked as a team to perform better than their seeding going into the race. We look forward to continuing with this momentum and growth into our new season."

Massachusetts won the team title with 52 points, edging out Rhode Island with 49 points.
Dayton's V8+ took third in its first heat in a time of 7:02.52 to advance to the Grand Final. The Flyers took fifth in the Grand Final in a time of 7:01.93, just being edged by Fordham's boat in a time of 6:59.07.

Dayton's 2V8+ finished second in the Petite Final in a time of 7:48.24.

UD's V4+ took first place in the Petite Final in a time of 8:43.25.
