DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team posted a 3-1 (28-26, 16-25, 25-8, 25-19) win over Ohio Tuesday night at Frericks Center in the team's 2017 home opener. Junior
Lauren Bruns led all attackers with a match-high 18 kills - just one off her career high of 19.
KEY MOMENT
After dropping the second set, 25-16, Dayton came out swinging in the third set and scored 11 of the frame's first 12 points. The Flyers never looked back and won set three, 25-8, before closing out the match in the fourth, 25-19.

- As a team, Dayton recorded 18 total blocks to Ohio's eight. Senior
Amber Erhahon was one off a double-double with a career-high 11 blocks to go with nine kills.

Dayton will remain at home this weekend as it hosts the Dayton Invitational Sept. 1-3. UD will square off against Iowa State on Friday at 7 p.m. and Pittsburgh Sunday at 1 p.m. with a neutral Iowa State-Pitt match on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. All matches will be played at Frericks Center and admission is free.
