#UDWBB Travels To Fordham Wednesday

Both Teams Enter The Game 5-0 In Atlantic 10 Player

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team heads back out on the road to New York to take on Fordham Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. at Rose Hill Gym. Both teams enter the game with a 5-0 unbeaten Atlantic 10 mark.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
The Flyers are 12-4 overall this season and currently on a six-game winning streak. Dayton is 2-2 in road games this year as well.

Head coach Shauna Green is in her second season at the helm of the Flyers after going 22-10 in her first campaign last year. The WBCA National Rookie Coach of the Year returns an experienced squad with three seniors, six juniors, and three starters.

As a team, Dayton is averaging 76.6 points per game and holding opponents to 61.2 points, good enough for a +15.4 advantage. The Flyers are shooting 42.4 percent from the floor, 37.7 percent from three-point range, and 72.5 percent from the free throw line. UD benefits from a +7.2 rebounding margin and a +1.2 turnover margin.

The Flyers are led by senior Jenna Burdette, who is scoring 15.4 points per game to go with 3.8 assists each outing. Sophomore Jayla Scaife is contributing 14.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while senior JaVonna Layfield is averaging a double-double with 11.3 points and 12.6 rebounds each outing, which ranks seventh in the nation.

SCOUTING FORDHAM
Fordham is tied with Dayton atop the Atlantic 10 standings, posting a 5-0 league mark ad a 14-4 record overall. The Rams are 10-1 at home this season and currently on a seven-game winning streak. Head coach Stephanie Gaitley is in her seventh season at Fordham.

The Rams lead the A-10 in scoring defense with 54.7 points allowed per game while scoring 60.2 each contest. Fordham shoots 39.9 percent overall, 29.6 percent behind the arc, and 75.4 percent from the charity stripe.

Leading the way is G'mrice Davis, who ranks second in Division I with 13.5 rebounds per game to go with a team-high 16.4 points. Bre Cavanaugh is adding 15.9 points per game with Lauren Holden scoring 10.5 points and leading the team in assists.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton powered its way to a 101-76 win at home over Saint Louis Sunday, Jan. 14 at UD Arena. The Flyers reached the 100-point mark for the second time this season and had six players in double figures, including Burdette's 33-point outing.

Fordham went on the road to VCU and left with a 64-54 win over their fellow Rams. Fordham's Bre Cavanaugh scored 19 points to go with four assists while G'mrice Davis had 12 points and 14 boards.

THE SERIES
The Flyers and Rams have played 27 times previously with Dayton winning 21 contests and Fordham winning the other six. In last year's meeting, the Rams won on their home court, 66-52. G'mrice Davis had 13 points and nine rebounds to lead Fordham.

The Flyers return home to host George Washington, Sunday, Jan. 21 at 12 p.m. at UD Arena. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
