Box Score The Dayton women's tennis dropped its season opener on the road by a score of 7-0 against a tough Louisville squad at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Sophomore

Kelly Pleiman made their debuts in the Flyer lineup in the No. 4 and No. 5 singles positions, respectively.
Senior
Marlys Bridgham, a returning All A-10 Second Team performer from a season ago, gave Louisville's Aleksandra Mally a fight in No. 1 singles, including forcing a tiebreak in the first set before eventually falling 7-6 (5), 6-3. Fellow senior
Jackie Kawamoto also kept things close in the opening set in No. 6 singles with Ariana Rodriguez before dropping the match by a line of 7-5, 6-2.
Despite the loss, the match will help prepare Dayton for upcoming Atlantic 10 play. Before the season began, head coach
Erica Echko noted that the Flyers were excited about the opportunity of playing two difficult teams to open up the season in Louisville and Cincinnati that will be comparable to the upper level of the conference.
