DAYTON  – The University of Dayton men's soccer team battled back late, but ended up falling at Rhode Island, 3-1.
The Flyers (4-5-3-4, 0-3-1 A-10) still look for their first A-10 win while the Rams (10-2-0, 4-1 A-10) reached double digit wins.
KEY STATS
- Dayton trailed in the 51st minute with the opening goal from Rhode Island.
- Freshman Jake Feiner scored his first career goal at an opportune time to tie the game up at 1-1 in the 76th minute. Junior Rok Taneski provided the assist on a cross into the box.
- The goal was Dayton's first since Sept. 29.
- Just five minutes later, the Rams took the lead back with a goal in the 81st minute.
- URI then added to its advantage with a goal in the 90th minute.
- Dayton outshot Rhode Island 12-11 in the contest and put seven on target.
- UD also benefited from a 5-3 corner kick advantage.
- Junior Laurel Aug and Taneski both had three shots to lead UD.
- 15 different Flyers saw playing time.
