GREEN BAY, Wis. - The University of Dayton women's basketball team suffered a 51-35 loss on the road at Green Bay Saturday in Wisconsin.

Dayton (2-3) couldn't overcome the strong Phoenix (3-2) defense in the contest.

rd quarter – After tying the game up at 26-26 in the start of the third, Green Bay went on a 16-2 run the rest of the quarter.  Â

1st Quarter: Dayton 8, Green Bay 16
- The game got off to a slow start as neither team was able to score in the first 2:30 of the contest.
- Green Bay struck first at the 6:56 mark with a contested jumper.
- Jayla Scaife quickly answered and put Dayton on the board.
- The Phoenix responded with a run and forced a Flyer timeout with 3:59 to play after taking a 9-2 lead.
- UD got four quick points out of the break, trying to stick with the hosts.
- Scaife hit a pair of free throws in the final second of the quarter to narrow the gap to eight.
- Green Bay forced eight UD turnovers and had a 9-0 points off turnover advantage. '
- The Flyers did outrebound the Phoenix however, 9-8.
2nd Quarter: Dayton 23, Green Bay 26
- Dayton battled to stay within fighting distance of Green Bay in the first few minutes of the second, trading baskets.
- Scaife was the first Flyer to reach double digits scoring with her 10th of the contest.
- UD cut it to a two-point game by the halfway mark, 20-18. Green Bay suffered from a 2:56 drought.
- Green Bay extended its lead before Dayton came back down the stretch to make it a three point game at the half.
- Scaife had game-highs with 14 points and six rebounds in the first 20 minutes.
- UD shot 36.4 percent while Green Bay shot 34.4 percent. The Flyers also outrebounded the Phoenix 19-17, leading to a 9-4 second chance points advantage.
3rd Quarter: Dayton 28, Green Bay 42
- Julia Chandler hit the first shot of the second half, a three-pointer to tie the game up at 26-26.
- Midway through the quarter though, Green Bay went on a 9-0 run to extend its lead back to 10 at 38-28.
- Dayton suffered from a 4:30 scoring drought while going 0-for-6, adding to the Phoenix's 14-2 run.
- After the end of the quarter however, the Flyers now trailed by their biggest margin, 42-28.
4th Quarter: Dayton 35, Green Bay 51
- Dayton was the only team to score over the first 3:30 of the fourth quarter, attempting to close the gap.
- By the media break though, the Flyers still faced a 12-point deficit.
- Another drought by UD allowed Green Bay to push its lead to 16 at 48-32.
- The Flyers didn't have enough firepower down the stretch as the Phoenix defender their home court.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Jayla Scaife had a team-high 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.
20 – Dayton committed 20 turnovers in the game, which led to 22 points off turnovers for Green Bay.
14 – The Flyers had 14 second-chance points.
