INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Dayton women's rowing team had a very productive day at the 2018 Bald Eagle Collegiate Invitational. The Flyers took on NCAA Division I and club teams from Purdue, Marquette, Grand Valley State, Northwestern, Illinois, Adrian, and IUPUI.

The following Flyer boats earned medals:
Varsity 4+ finished 3rd out of 9 (in 17:52.8 - Samantha Bauer (coxswain) Bridget Kallmeyer, Osa Wheeler, Anna Benton, Erin Dwyer)

Novice 4+ finished 3rd out of 10 (19:07.7 - Quincey Shurman (coxswain)  Jessica Moore, Sara McCloud, Colleen McDonnell, Ashley Pendergast) 

Varsity 8+ A finished 3rd out of 7 (16:06.3 - Samantha Bauer (coxswain) Bridget Kallmeyer, Erin Dwyer, Margaret Cahill, Osa Wheeler, Anna Benton, Kiley Tempert, Kathryn Spence, Elizabeth Hoffman)

Varsity 8+ B finished 2nd out of 6 (18:25.1 - Hannah Butler (coxswain), Sonia Krolak, Tessa Shade, Angie Loriso, Savannah Mussari, Haylee Zigmund, Lauren Jones, Abigail Minzler, Liz DeNardo)

Novice 8+ A finished 3rd out of 6 (17:24.8 - Quincey Shurman (coxswain), Sara McCloud, Haylee Zigmund, Lauren Jones, Colleen McDonnell, Savannah Mussari, Angie Loriso, Ashley Pendergast, Katie Acra)

Novice 8+ B finished 3rd out of 4 (19:31.1 - Olivia Atkins (coxswain), Grace Parker, Grace Yingling, Beth Boehlefeld, Kat Mason, Grace Porter, Emma Speyer, Katie Stumpf, Megan Grospitch.

This closed out the 2018 fall season for the Flyers.

"Overall, I am pleased with how the team performed this weekend at the Bald Eagle Collegiate Invitational.  Despite limited practices in line-ups and a broken rigger, each boat came off the water satisfied with the races," said head coach Mike Wenker. "Many thanks to Purdue Rowing for putting together the races and to Grand Valley for loaning us a shell. The team is ready for some work on the rowing machines and time in the weight room."
