NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its weekly women's basketball honors and named University of Dayton senior guard
Lauren Cannatelli as the A-10 Player of the Week.
Cannatelli recorded a pair of 24-point games at the West Palm Beach Invitational this past week against undefeated Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech. The senior guard from Cincinnati, Ohio, started the tournament with 24 points, four rebounds, and went a perfect 12-of-12 from the free throw line against the Hokies. She followed that up with 24 points, three steals, five rebounds, and five assists while going 14-of-16 from the free throw line in the double-digit win over the Yellow Jackets.
Cannatelli shot 92.9 percent from the free throw line over the two game stretch as the Flyers finished up non-conference play.Â
The Flyers split their games at the West Palm Beach Invitational, ending with a big win over Georgia Tech. Dayton finished up a difficult non-conference schedule with a 5-6 record overall.
UD returns to action on Jan. 5 at home in the A-10 opener, hosting La Salle at 1 p.m. ET at UD Arena.
