HARRISONBURG, Va. Â - The University of Dayton women's basketball team fell on the road at James Madison Monday night, 68-55.

The Flyers (2-5) were unable to catch up to the Dukes (6-1) in the second half and suffered their third straight loss.

1st Quarter: Dayton 14, James Madison 22
- James Madison jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in the first minute of the game.
- Dayton got its first bucket on a Jayla Scaife three at the 7:54 mark. She followed that up with a layup to tie the game up at 5-5.
- By the media break, the game remained tight at 10-9 in favor of JMU.
- The Dukes got the margin to five again at 17-12 with two minutes to play.
- JMU hit a shot at the buzzer to extend the lead to eight points.
- Scaife led UD with six points while freshman Kyla Whitehead had four points and two rebounds.
2nd Quarter: Dayton 33, James Madison 40
- Dayton hit two three's to start the second quarter, one from Scaife and another from redshirt junior Shakeela Fowler.
- The Flyers narrowed the gap back to four in the first two minutes of the second.
- Halfway through the quarter, the Dukes got their lead back to eight at 33-25.
- Dayton's first three field goals of the second were from the three-point line.
- The Flyers suffered from a 3:22 scoring drought. Senior Ashleigh Parkinson returned from injury and hit a free throw to end the skid.
- Senior Maddy Dennis hit a pair of free throws with 18 seconds left to cut JMU's lead to five at 38-33.
- Scaife led UD in the first half with 17 points including 4-of-6 from three.
- The Flyers were outrebounded 23-16 and outscored in the paint 22-10.
- UD had a 14-9 bench scoring advantage however.
- James Madison shot 48.4 percent from the field while Dayton hit 34.5 percent.
3rd Quarter: Dayton 46, James Madison 59
- Redshirt junior Julia Chandler got her first bucket of the game to start the second half.
- Senior Lauren Cannatelli made a three at the 7:07 mark, moving her into the 1,000-point club at Dayton.
- JMU got its lead to double digits at 49-39 midway through the quarter.
- The Dukes then suffered from a 2:32 scoring drought to let the Flyers back in it.
- The Flyers went through the final stages of the third on a three-plus minute skid of their own to let JMU take its biggest lead of the game.
- Dayton was outscored in the quarter 19-13.
4th Quarter: Dayton 55, James Madison 68
- Chandler hit the first two shots of the fourth for Dayton.
- The Flyers then faced another three-minute field goal drought as the Dukes got the margin back to double digits.
- JMU also had a tough time scoring, unable to add to its lead for 4:31 seconds. Both teams combined to go 0-for-9 during that stretch has the clock ticked under five minutes to play.
- In the end, Dayton ran out of time and was unable to catch James Madison.
