DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team defeated Buffalo in a Friday afternoon showdown at UD Arena.

Dayton (3-5) snapped a three-game losing streak while Buffalo (6-2) lost just its second game of the year.

  1st Quarter: Dayton 17, Buffalo 8
- Kyla Whitehead made her first career start for the Flyers.
- The Flyers did not manage a field goal until the 5:40 mark, but a layup from Araion Bradshaw gave the Flyers a 3-2 lead.
- Jayla Scaife's three-pointer extended the Flyers' lead to 13-6 at the 2:38 mark.

- Lauren Cannatelli made her second three-pointer of the game to regain the Flyers' lead at 24-21.
- Dayton finished the quarter on an 8-0 run, ending with back-to-back three-pointers by Cannatelli and Scaife.
- Cannatelli led the way with 11 in the half on 3-of-8 shooting.
- Scaife and Brittany Ward each had five rebounds in the half.

3rd Quarter: Dayton 51, Buffalo 46
- After the Bulls scored the start the quarter, the Flyers scored eight straight points to extend the lead to 42-31.
- Buffalo was held scoreless for 4:39 during the Flyers' run.
- After the Flyers took a 49-37 lead, the Bulls cut the lead to 49-46 at the 1:11 mark with a 9-0 run.
- By the end of the quarter, the Flyers had nine players on the scoresheet.
- Buffalo was held to 5-of-24 (20.8 percent) shooting for the quarter.
- Both teams would enter the final quarter with some foul trouble, as Buffalo had two players with four fouls while Dayton had four players with three fouls.

4th Quarter: Dayton 72, Buffalo 59
- Both teams struggled offensively to start the quarter but the Flyers enjoyed an eight-point lead at the media timeout.
- Shakeela Fowler's three-point play was a big basket for the Flyers, giving them a nine-point lead with 3:03 to play.
- The Flyers shot many foul shots down the stretch, and went 9-of-13 from the foul line in the quarter.
- Cannatelli finished the game with 19 points, including a perfect 6-for-6 from the foul line.
- Brittany Ward finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Both were a career high for Ward.
