Mattea Kilstofte dropped the first match at the No. 1 doubles spot, 6-2. Seniors Jade and
Jackie Kawamoto delivered at the No. 2 doubles spot with a score of 6-3.
In singles play, the Flyers struggled at the top of the lineup, dropping matches at the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 singles spot. The Flyers got points in singles play from a forfeit on court six and freshman
Kelly Pleiman won her match at the No. 5 singles spot; 6-4, 6-2. With the match tied up at 3-3, it came down to the No. 4 singles spot, where sophomore
Natalie Allen was slotted for the Flyers. Allen won her match by a line of 7-5, 6-3 and came through for the second time this season with the match tied at 3-3 to give the Flyers the win. She also clinched the match against Wright State.
The Flyers have now won their third match in a row for an overall record of 5-4, 1-1 in the A-10. Dayton will take this momentum into the weekend as they host matches on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. the Flyers will take on the Belmont Bruins (1-6). On Sunday, the women's team will play IUPUI (3-3) for a start time of 12 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Five Seasons Sports Club.
