Box Score DAYTON – The Dayton women's tennis team finished the weekend strong with a dominating 5-0 victory over IUPUI on Sunday afternoon. The Flyers completed the weekend with a record of 2-1 with wins against Austin Peay State and IUPUI. Dayton now holds an overall record of 6-5 on the season.
Seniors Jackie and
Jade Kawamoto set the tone for the Flyers with a 6-0 win at the No. 2 doubles spot.
Kelly Pleiman and
Anna Delaney followed suite, winning their match at the No. 3 doubles spot by a score of 6-2.
After a close first set win by
Mattea Kilstofte, the junior controlled the tempo in the second set to give the Flyers a win at the No. 2 singles spot by a score of 7-6, 6-1.
Jackie Kawamoto delivered at the No. 3 singles spot with a score of 6-2, 6-2.
Jade Kawamoto and
Natalie Allen rounded out the match for the Flyers with wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots, respectively.
Jade Kawamoto won her match in straight sets by a line of 6-0, 6-0.
Natalie Allen won her third match of the weekend by a score of 6-2, 6-1.
Dayton returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 25 to host Illinois State at 10 a.m. at the Five Seasons Sports Club. Illinois State is currently on a five-game winning streak, with an overall record of 6-1. Look below for full results from Sunday's match:
