DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team lost a game to Wright State on Sunday by a score of 7-3 at Nischwitz Stadium in Fairborn, Ohio. The Flyers drop to 3-8 overall this season, while the Raiders now have won four in a row and own an overall record of 8-6.
KEY MOMENT
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Wright State scored three runs to break the game open and extend its lead to 5-0. The Raiders took advantage of three walks issued by Dayton pitchers in the inning and also recorded two hits.
SCORING BREAKDOWN
Bottom 2nd: JD Orr hit a single to lead off the inning and was drove in by Seth Gray, who hit a triple to deep center field the next at-bat. Zach Weatherford was the next batter for Wright State and scored Gray from third with a sac fly to right field.

Bottom 4th: Wright State's hitters drew three walks and got two singles in the inning to tack on three more runs in the fourth.

Bottom 5th: Gabe Snyder hit a single up the middle and then advanced to third during the next at-bat off two consecutive passed balls. Snyder would score on a groundout by JD Orr.

Top 6th: Pat Meehan hit a home run over the right field fence that hit the scoreboard to put Dayton on the board for the first time of the game.

Bottom 6th: The Raiders got back the run they yielded earlier in the sixth by utilizing a pair of bunts to advance Brandon Giltrow, who got on base via a hit by pitch to open the inning.

Top 7th: Connor Wilson legged out an infield single for his second hit of the game to lead off the seventh. Wilson advanced to second on a wild pitch and then stole third.
Brantley Johnson drove him home with an RBI single to left field.

Top 8th: Mitchell Garrity hit a single to center field and then stole second base and advanced to third off an errant throw from the catcher.
Brandon Smith picked up an RBI off a single to right field, marking his third straight game with at least one run batted in. Wright State 7, Dayton 3
