FAIRBORN, Ohio - The University of Dayton softball team used a strong offensive outing to down Wright State, 13-4, in five innings Thursday at WSU Softball Field. Junior Kelly Fitzgerald was 3-for-4 with four RBI while freshman Abby Ehrenborg knocked out a grand slam, her third homer of the season.

Dayton improves to 5-12 overall while Wright State is now 6-15.

SCORING BREAKDOWN
Both teams started the game off with a single run in the first inning but Dayton broke the contest open with its six-run second. Fitzgerald doubled in sophomore Ellie Ziegler and she was brought home when senior Jaclyn Kweder was putout at first. With the bases loaded, Ehrenborg recorded her third home run of the season to put the game out of reach. Wright State put up a single run in the third and two more in the fourth but Dayton plated a total of six over the fourth and fifth to end the game after the fifth.
