Box Score The University of Dayton women's tennis team defeated Ball State at the Five Seasons Sports Club on Friday by a score of 4-3. The win gives the Flyers their seventh win in their last eight matches and improves their record to 12-6 overall this season.
Kelly Pleiman and
Anna Delaney teamed up for a 6-2 win in doubles at court three, while Jackie and
Jade Kawamoto won a 7-5 decision in No. 2 doubles to clinch the opening point of the match for the Dayton.
The Flyers got two more points when
Mattea Kilstofte won her match at the No. 2 spot in the lineup for singles by a score of 6-2, 6-4 and
Jade Kawamoto won by a line of 6-3, 7-5, but the Flyers lost matches at No. 1, 5 and 6 to tie up the match at 3-3. Senior
Jackie Kawamoto came through in the clutch to clinch the match for Dayton with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles. It was Dayton's fifth match this season that has gone the distance and finished with a score of 4-3 and the Flyers have a 4-1 record in those matches.
Up next for Dayton is a home match against Xavier on Sunday, March 18 at noon.
