BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Western Kentucky used a walk-off single to get past the University of Dayton softball team 1-0 Sunday afternoon in the Hilltopper Spring Fling finale. Staunch Flyer defense that included nine strikeouts from senior
Manda Cash held the Hilltoppers at bay until the final inning of the contest.
Dayton moved to 4-12 on the season while Western Kentucky is now 14-6 overall.
SCORING BREAKDOWN
Dayton was able to get a runner in scoring position in both the second and fifth innings but was held scoreless by the Western Kentucky defense. With runners on first and third, the Hilltoppers sent a single down the right line to bring across the game-winning run.
