#UDBASE Drops Game To Wright State On Wednesday, 11-2

Dayton Will Host St. Bonaventure For A Three-Game Set This Weekend, Including Youth Baseball Day On Saturday And Dayton Baseball Vs. Cancer On Sunday

Fairborn, Ohio – The University of Dayton baseball team dropped its game to Wright State by a score of 11-2 on Wednesday afternoon. The Raiders jumped out a 2-0 lead in the first inning and extended that lead to 6-0 by the end of third, which proved too much for the Flyers to overcome on the day. Dayton's record is now 8-24 this season, while Wright State, the Horizon League leaders, improve to 23-12.

SCORING SUMMARY
Bottom 1st: (Wright State 2, Dayton 0)
Gabe Snyder hit a single to left field to score a runner from third for the first run of the game and Chase Slone delivered a two-out RBI single to extend Wright State's early lead to two.
Bottom 3rd: (Wright State 6, Dayton 0)
JD Orr doubled to left field to start off the inning and was driven home on an RBI single by Peyton Burdick, who advanced to second on the throw. Burdick stole third and then scored on an errant throw down to the base. Chase Slone hit a two-run homer to left field to cap off the scoring for the inning.
Top 4th: (Wright State 6, Dayton 1)
Pat Meehan hit a leadoff double off the top of the left field wall to open the inning, advanced to third on a Connor Echols sac bunt and scored on a Tate Hagan groundout.
Bottom 4th: (Wright State 8, Dayton 1)
Matt Morrow was hit by a pitch, then JD Orr followed with a double to advance him to third. Peyton Burdick hit a sac fly to score Morrow, while Gabe Snyder hit a single through the right side of infield to drive home Orr.
Bottom 6th: (Wright State 9, Dayton 1)
Matt Morrow reached base on a leadoff walk and stole second base to give the Raiders a runner in scoring position, while JD Orr hit his third double of the game to drive him home.
Bottom 7th: (Wright State 10, Dayton 1)
Chase Sloan led off the bottom half of the inning with a double, his fourth hit of the game, and scored off a Seth Gray single to center field.
Top 8th: (Wright State 10, Dayton 2)
Back-to-back doubles from Mitchell Garrity and Takahiro Yamada added another run for the Flyers.
Bottom 8th: (Wright State 11, Dayton 2)
The Raiders added an insurance run with Zane Harris driving home Peyton Burdick.
