SCORING BREAKDOWN
Game One: George Washington 14, Dayton 12
Dayton came out swinging, scoring four runs on five hits to jump out 4-0 on George Washington in the first inning. The Colonials got three runs back in the second, including a two-run homer, to pull within one, but the Flyers tacked on one more in the bottom when junior Kayla Haberstich singled in senior Jaclyn Kweder. GW put together a four-run third to get in front, 7-5, and added one more in the fourth for a three-run advantage. Junior Lisa Tassi led off the fifth and was sacrificed in on a fly out but George Washington exploded in the sixth for six runs. It was do or die time in the bottom of the sixth as Dayton was trailing by eight, 14-6, when senior Kyle Davidson knocked out a three-run long ball to cut the lead to five. The Colonials didn't score in the seventh and the Flyers were down to their last out when Davidson doubled in two baserunners. She was able to score on the subsequent play, a GW error, but that would be the end of the rally as George Washington held on for the 14-12 win.
Winning pitcher: K. Lange (7-2)
Losing pitcher: Manda Cash (10-6)

Game Two: Dayton 6, George Washington
George Washington scored first in the nightcap, putting up two runs in the third after taking advantage of two Dayton errors. Kweder scored the Flyers first run of the game in the third on a Haberstich double, cutting the Colonial lead to one, 2-1. UD batted through the order in the fourth inning, putting up a four spot on the strength of a two-RBI single from Haberstich and a total of five Flyer hits, pushing the lead to 5-2. Freshman Abby Ehrenborg sent a solo shot over the left-field fence for one more and the score remained 6-2 in favor of Dayton through the top of the seventh. George Washington rallied in the top of the final inning, scoring three runs, but that wouldn't be enough as Dayton held on for the 6-5 win.
