LEXINGTON, Ky. - University of Dayton volleyball assistant coach Alyssa D'Errico has been honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association with its Thirty Under 30 award. This award was created in 2009 to honor up-and-coming coaching talent at all levels of the sport.

D'Errico is the second Dayton assistant to be recognized on this list in as many years. Recently departed assistant Evan Muys was named to the AVCA Thirty Under 30 in 2017.

To qualify for the award, nominees had to be younger than 30 years old in 2017. The 144 total nominations broke the program record.

D'Errico has significantly impacted the game over the last decade in multiple facets. From her experience as a USA Volleyball Pipeline coach to collegiate positions at three institutions, she has coached three AVCA All-Americans and multiple all-conference honorees. In 2015 she assisted Louisville to an ACC Championship and NCAA Tournament top-15 seed. Additionally, she has impacted the game at the national level as a USA pipeline coach. D'Errico's playing career is extensive, having won four national championships before continuing her career professionally.
