NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its 2018 men's soccer preseason poll and predicted the University of Dayton to finish fifth in the league.

The Flyers did pick up one first-place votes to go with 117 points, trailing preseason favorites Fordham, VCU, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. UD was picked to finish head of Saint Louis, George Washington, and Davidson among others.

Junior midfielder Rok Taneski was named to the preseason all-conference team after winning A-10 Midfielder of the Year accolades last season.

Fordham and Rhode Island each had three players listed on the preseason team.

Dayton opens up the 2018 season on Friday against Hofstra in Columbus as part of the Ohio State tournament.

The A-10 season begins with Saint Louis on Sept. 29 at home.
