#UDWSOC Falls 1-0 On Own Goal To Louisville

1,116 Fans Cheered On The Flyers In Their Home Opener

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team lost a hard-fought battle 1-0 to Louisville  in a battle of two 2-0-0 squads Thursday night at a packed Baujan Field. The lone goal was scored in the 22nd minute, an own goal by the Flyers. 

Dayton drops to 2-1-0, while the Cardinals improve to 3-0-0.

KEY STATS
• Louisville dominated in the shots category, 14-4, including 10-2 in the second half.
• Kaelyn Johns had five saves in goal for the Flyers. 
• Freshman Tiana Bucknor, coming off the bench, led UD with two shots. 
• Each team had two corner kicks.
• Louisville was offsides four times. 

KEY MOMENT
• The lone goal of the match was scored on an own goal after Delaney Snyder dribbled to the endline and served the ball into the box. Dayton tried for a clearance and the ball found the back of the net. 

UP NEXT
• The Flyers will travel to Ypsilanti, Mich. to take on Eastern Michigan this Sunday, Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. at Scicluna Field.
