DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team (4-3-1) starts Atlantic 10 Conference play with two road matches. The Flyers take on George Mason (5-3-0) in Fairfax, Va. on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. in the conference opener and Duquesne (4-3-0) in Pittsburgh on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m.
• The matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.

THE SERIES
• Dayton is 4-2-0 all-time vs. George Mason. The last time these two teams met was Sept. 24, 2017 which ended in a 2-0 victory for UD.
• Dayton is 16-3-1 all-time vs. Duquesne. The last time these two teams met was Oct. 12, 2017 which ended in a 3-1 loss for the Flyers.

Eric Golz is in his second season at the helm of the Flyers. He previously served as an assistant at UD in 2011.
SCOUTING GEORGE MASON
 • George Mason finished 9-9-2 overall and 6-2-2 in the Atlantic 10 in 2017. The Patriots were picked to finish third in the Atlantic 10 after finishing third last year. They currently have a 5-3-0 record.
• The Patriots return 19 players from last year's roster, while adding eight newcomers this season. Last year, 10 of their players scored at least two goals.
• Freshman Emma van der Vorst is the team's leading goal scorer with five goals and one assist. She scored a goal in four straight games, tying for the third-longest streak in program history.
SCOUTING DUQUESNE
 • Duquesne finished 11-6-3 overall and 6-3-1 in the Atlantic 10 in 2017. The Dukes were picked to tie with George Mason at third in the Atlantic 10 after Duquesne finished fourth last year. They currently have a 4-3-0 record.
• The Dukes had three players named to the 11-member Preseason All-Conference team in seniors Katie O'Connor, Casey Aunkst, and Kyra Murphy.
• Last year, goalkeeper, Kyra Murphy, became the Duke's all-time leader in victories. This season, Murphy broke a 20-year old program record with her 22nd career shutout.
• Freshman, Brooke Schutter is the team's leading goal scorer with two goals.

• UD senior goalkeeper
Kaelyn Johns is ranked ninth in the nation in career saves (299) amongst current active goalkeepers.
• Johns is ranked fourth in the nation in career minutes played (6,275).
FLYERS PICKED 7TH IN A-10 POLL
• The Dayton women's soccer team was selected to finish seventh in the 2018 Atlantic 10 standings in a vote by the league's 14 head coaches.
