#UDWSOC Picks Up A Point On The Road At Duquesne

The Flyers Tied The Dukes 0-0 In 2OT

PITTSBURGH  – The University of Dayton women's soccer team picked up a point in the Atlantic 10 standings with a 0-0 tie on the road at Duquesne Sunday afternoon.

Dayton's record is now 4-4-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the A-10, while the Dukes are 4-4-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the A-10.  

KEY STATS
• Duquesne had three corner kicks in the first two minutes of the match, however Dayton dominated much of the possession in the rest of the match and ended with eight corner kicks to the Dukes' six total.
• The Flyers had 16 shots, including seven on goal, while Duquesne had 10 shots, including three on goal.  Flyer freshman Izzy Greene led all players with five shots, including four on frame.
• Kaelyn Johns and Emily Jones combined for the shutout in goal for the Flyers. It marks the second shutout of the season for UD.
• Going into the match, the Dukes had a perfect 4-0-0 record at their home Rooney Field.

KEY MOMENTS
• Johns went out with an injury in the 45th minute of the match and Jones came in to play the final 65:55, recording three saves to preserve the shutout.

• The Flyers will take on VCU on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. in their home conference opener at Baujan Field. Admission is free.
