PITTSBURGH - The University of Dayton volleyball team dropped a marathon 3-2 (25-19, 27-25, 24-26, 23-25, 17-15) decision to 12th-ranked Washington Friday afternoon in both teams' first match of the Panther Invitational hosted by Pitt. For the second time in as many matches, sophomore
Brooke Westbeld was just one dig shy of recording the elusive triple-double (11K, 28A, 9D).
Dayton is now 5-3 in the season. Washington moves to 4-1 for the year.
KEY STATS
• 11-28-9 - Westbeld continues to seemingly be everywhere at once, tallying her second-consecutive almost triple-double with 11 kills, 28 assists and nine digs in addition to two service aces
• 4 - four Flyers recorded double-digit kills, including senior
Lauren Bruns with a match-high 26 (26-4-55=.400)
• 13 - as a team, Dayton tallied 13.0 blocks. Freshman
Amelia Moore was a monster at the net with four solo blocks and three assisted blocks

Margo Wolf got under a match-high 25 digs for the Flyers

Bridget Doherty was the second Flyer with 20+ assists (22)
• 68 - the total number of kills recorded by Dayton (compared to Washington's 64)
