PITTSBURGH - The University of Dayton volleyball team was defeated by 13th-ranked Pitt, 3-1 (20-25, 28-26, 25-14, 25-7), in the team's second match of the day. Dayton will close out the Panther Invitational Saturday with an 11 a.m. match against Kennesaw State.

Dayton is now 5-4 on the year and Pitt remains unbeaten with an 8-0 record.

KEY STATS
• .727 - junior Sierra Pla was swinging at a blistering .727 hitting percentage. She recorded nine kills to one error in 11 attempts
• 16 - senior Lauren Bruns tallied a a team-high 16 kills
• 20 - sophomore Bridget Doherty set a team-high 20 assists
• 13-5 - Dayton out-blocked Pitt, 13.0 to 5.0, including six blocks by freshman Amelia Moore

Dayton will square off against Kennesaw State on Saturday to close out the weekend. The Flyers and Owls are set to square off at 11 a.m. at Pitt's Fitzgerald Field House in UD's final match of the Panther Invitational.
