DAYTON -- The University of Dayton Flyers will head to "enemy territory" for the first time in the Atlantic 10 season (and only the second time this year) when they play at George Washington on Wednesday, Jan. 9. Game time is 7 p.m. ET. Dayton is 9-5 this season after a 72-48 win over Richmond in the 2019 A-10 opener. The Flyers have won their last four, and UD's losses are to teams with a combined record of 59-9. Four of the teams are ranked.

THE NEARLY-TRANSFORMED UD ARENA
The University of Dayton is past the halfway point of a $72 million renovation of its Arena. The transformation of University of Dayton Arena will occur in three phases – from 2017 to 2019.
Phase II included new entrances on three of the four sides, a new box office, new seats in the 300 and 400 levels on the east side and a new and expanded concourse on the east side.

• After allowing 50 points in the second half of the previous two games, the Flyers held Richmond under 50 for the whole game, winning the A-10 opener 72-48.

Obi Toppin was named A-10 Rookie of the Week for the second straight time (and third time this season) with 16 points and nine rebounds (12 and 8 in the second half).
• But Toppin's award-winning performance was overshadowed by
Josh Cunningham's first double-double of the season (25/10). He has scored at least 25 points in 3 of the last 4 games.
• The 10 millionth fan to attend a Flyer men's basketball game at UD Arena stepped through the turnstiles at the Richmond game. UD is 11th school to cross the 10 million mark. The others are Butler, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, New Mexico, Purdue, Syracuse and Vanderbilt.
• Toppin is currently second nationally in field goal percentage (.714, 85-119).
• Dayton is sixth in the NCAA and leads the Atlantic 10 Conference in FG% (.513, 404-787).
• The Flyers are shooting .576 (133-231) over their last four games.

Jalen Crutcher is the only player in the A-10's top five in assists (3rd, 5.8) assist-to-turnover ratio (2nd, 2.5) and 3-pt. FG's per game (2nd, 2.6).
• Crutcher was Dayton's top performer at the Battle4Atlantis, reaching double figures all three games, and averaging 15.0 points and 5.2 assists per contest. UD was fourth at the B4A.
• Dayton had a team-record 12 dunks in UD's 98-59 win over Detroit Mercy and Toppin set a UD record with eight dunks in the game.

Trey Landers leads UD in rebounding (8.1). He is second in the A-10, and as a 6-foot-5 guard, is the shortest member of the A-10 Top 10.
