MARIETTA, Ohio – The University of Dayton rowing team's V8+ won all its races at the 2019 Muskie Chase hosted by Marietta College Sunday. The races took place on the Muskingum River.

"Overall, this was a good first race of the season.  The team raced well this Sunday," said Head Coach Mike Wenker. "Each boat improved between the 5k and 500's.  Thanks to Marietta College for hosting. This is a great race to start the season."

In the 5k race, Dayton's V8+ won by more than a minute. The Flyer B boat took third place.

In the 500-meter races, UD's V8+ won all three pieces. In the third and final 500-meters, Dayton finished 1-2 on time, with the V8+ winning and the novice coming in just two seconds behind them in their heat.
 
The Flyers will finish their fall season at the Bald Eagle Collegiate Fall Challenge Saturday, Nov. 2 in Indianapolis at Eagle Creek Park.
