WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The University of Dayton women's basketball team ended the 2019 West Palm Beach Invitational with a 94-68 victory over East Carolina Saturday afternoon.
The Flyers (6-7) get back in the win column while the Pirates (3-9) dropped their fifth straight.

GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 18, East Carolina 16
- Sophomore Kyla Whitehead picked up right where she left off after a career performance Friday, scoring the first four points for Dayton.
- The Pirates answered though and took an 8-7 lead with 7:35 on the clock.
- Dayton suffered from a three minute scoring drought as well.
- Midway through the quarter, the Flyers trailed 10-7 with turnovers 6-1 in ECU's favor.
- Redshirt junior Araion Bradshaw nailed a three at the top of the key with 1:24 to play to put UD up 16-14.
- Senior Jenna Giacone hit a pair of free throws in the final 11 seconds to give UD the lead after one.
2nd Quarter: Dayton 42, East Carolina 26
- Dayton added to its lead to start the second, pushing the gap to six at 22-16 in the first minute and a half.
- Senior Jordan Wilmoth had a nice rebound, contested putback, and drew a foul to keep momentum in the Flyers' favor.
- With only seven players, three players already had two fouls just 11 and half minutes into the game.
- ECU didn't get its first points in the second until the 7:01 mark.
- The Flyers had six straight points from the free throw line during a 2:23 stretch.
- Dayton got the margin to double digits just past midway through the second.
- Bradshaw tied a season high with her ninth point, going 6-of-6 from three throw.
- The Flyers went 18-of-19 in the first half from the free throw line.
- Wilmoth led UD with a season-high 12 points while Bradshaw tied a season high with nine points.
3rd Quarter: Dayton 74, East Carolina 49
- East Carolina came out firing in the second half, hitting back-to-back three's.
- The Flyers answered though with three's from Bradshaw and Fowler.
- The Pirates first four baskets of the second half were all three's by Thompson, keeping ECU in the game.
- By the media break, Dayton go the lead back to 12 at 54-42.
- There was a double technical on both Dayton and East Carolina with :45 on the clock, sending UD to the line.
- Wilmoth had a nice bucket and a foul to cap off the third.
4th Quarter: Dayton
- ECU's bench got a technical in the first minute of the quarter and Whalen hit both free throws to put UD up 26.
- The Pirates called a timeout at the 6:47 mark as the Flyers had the margin to 25, 80-55.
- With 3:55 on the clock, ECU had its third player foul out and had to play the rest of the game with just four healthy players.
- The Flyers held on late for their sixth win of the season.
