WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The University of Dayton volleyball team was eliminated from national postseason play with its 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-22) lost to 16th-ranked Marquette in first-round action of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. The neutral-site match was played at Purdue's Holloway Gymnasium Friday evening.
Dayton closes out 2019 with an overall record of 22-9. Marquette advances to the Second Round with a mark of 28-5.
KEY STATS
• 8 to 3 - Dayton out-blocked Marquette, 8.0 to 3.0 total team blocks. Junior
Olivia Dubay led the team with seven blocks
• 11 - sophomore
Jamie Peterson led the Flyer attack with a team-high 11 kills
• .500 - freshman
Amelia Moore tallied eight kills to one error in 14 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage
• 32 & 14 - 2019 was Dayton's 32nd 20-win season and the Flyers made their 14th appearance in the NCAA Tournament
