DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team hosts George Washington Sunday, Feb. 17 at 12 p.m. at UD Arena. It will be the Flyers' annual Pink Game in support of Breast Cancer Awareness and the Pink Ribbon Girls.

The game is also televised nationally on ESPNU.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton is 12-10 on the season and 7-4 in Atlantic 10 play, sitting in fourth place in the conference standings. The Flyers are on a two-game losing streak, but return to UD Arena where they are 9-1 this season.

Head coach Shauna Green is the reigning A-10 Coach of the Year and is in her third season at the helm of the Flyers. With a 57-26 record at Dayton and three conference titles, expectations are high for the program.

As a team, the Flyers are averaging 66.1 points per game and holding opponents to 59.6 points each contest. Dayton shoots 37.3 percent overall, 32.2 percent from three-point range, and 70.0 percent from the free throw line. UD has a +3.5 rebounding margin, but has to overcome a -0.5 turnover margin.

Dayton is led by junior Jayla Scaife, who has team highs of 15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Senior Lauren Cannatelli is adding 13.2 points per game and shooting 88.5 percent from  the free throw line. Redshirt junior Shakeela Fowler is contributing 8.6 points off the bench.

SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
George Washington comes to Dayton with an 8-16 record overall and a 5-6 A-10 mark. The Colonials are currently on a four-game losing streak, but do have a win over the Flyers at home earlier this season. GW is 3-6 away from D.C. this year as well.

Head coach Jennifer Rizzotti is in her third season at GW, but has 19 seasons of head coaching experience with a stop at Hartford.

GW is scoring 50.5 points each game, but giving up 57.3 points to opposing teams. The Colonials shoot 34.2 percent from the floor, 30.7 percent from behind the arc, and 61.1 percent from the charity stripe. GW leads the A-10 in fewest fouls and second in fouls per game, but has negative turnover and rebounding margins.

Leading the Colonials is Neila Luma with 10.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while Mei-Lyn Bautista is the general of the offense to go with 9.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton suffered a heartbreaking 64-62 loss at VCU Thursday, despite leading by double-digits in the second half. Scaife led the way with 19 points while Cannatelli had 18 points.

George Washington fell at home to Saint Joseph's, 41-38, on Wednesday. The Colonials scored just four points in the first quarter and six in the third in the loss.

THE SERIES
Dayton and George Washington have met 44 times in series history with the Colonials winning 33 times and the Flyers winning 11 times. Earlier this season, Dayton went to GW and fell short in a 46-45 defeat.

STATISTICAL RANKINGS
The Flyers rank fourth in the country in defensive rebounds per game and eighth in three-point field goal percentage defense. Dayton also leads the A-10 in rebounds per game as well.

CANNATELLI'S SWEEPS THREE-POINT RECORDS
Senior Lauren Cannatelli made her 240th career three pointer on Feb. 14 at VCU, breaking the all-time mark in Dayton history. The Cincinnati native already held the single game made threes, single season made threes, and career three pointers attempted. With her three's at VCU, Cannatelli passed former Flyer Andrea Hoover (2011-15).

FLYERS IN REGULAR SEASON LEAGUE PLAY
Dayton has won 96 of its last 119 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.817), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, and includes a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season.

THREE POINTS OF EXCELLENCE
Dayton has hit at least one three-point shot in 559 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. The Flyers made a program-record 15 three-point field goals against Buffalo in the Connecticut World Vision Classic on Nov. 25, 2011. Dayton tied the record with 15 vs. Wright State on Nov. 28, 2012.

PRESEASON POLL
Dayton was picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll behind conference favorites Duquesne. With two first-place votes and 183 points, the Flyers were picked ahead of Fordham, George Washington, and Saint Joseph's.

PRESEASON HONORS
The Atlantic 10 released its preseason all-conference teams and recognized a pair of Flyers as junior Jayla Scaife was named First Team All-Conference as well as All-Defensive Team while senior Lauren Cannatelli was named Second Team All-Conference.

70'S THE MAGIC NUMBER
Since the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 156-18 (.895) when scoring 70 or more points, including 11-1 in 2016-17. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2009-10 when reaching that mark.
