DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team will welcome a pair of Atlantic 10 Conference opponents to Ohio this weekend when Saint Louis and Saint Joseph's come to town. The Flyers will open the weekend against Saint Louis on Friday at 7 p.m. (ET), while the match against Saint Joseph's will take place on Sunday at 10 a.m. (ET).
Dayton is coming off a 1-1 weekend where they split a doubleheader last Friday with a 4-3 loss to IUPUI and a 4-0 win over Eastern Illinois. The Flyers continue to be strong at the top of the lineup with
Jordan Benjamin and
Langford Hills posting records of 6-2 and 6-1 at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.
Spencer Richey also has a record of 4-2 at No. 3 singles, but the Flyers will look to get more consistency from the back half of the singles lineup.
Saint Louis is 1-5 this season with its only win of the season coming over D-II Quincy, 6-1. The Billikens have played two common opponents with the Flyers this season in Eastern Illinois and IUPUI. SLU lost to EIU, 5-1, and to IUPUI by a 6-1 margin. The team's best record this season has come from the No. 2 singles slot, where Kenji Yanaba is 3-3 this season.
Saint Joseph's enters the weekend still searching for their first win of the season with a record of 0-4.
