#UDWBB Travels To Duquesne Sunday

The Flyers Are Second In The A-10 And Face The Preseason Conference Favorites

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team starts a road stint on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Duquesne, the host site of the 2019 Atlantic 10 Tournament.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton is 12-8 overall this season and 7-2 in A-10 play, sitting in a tie for second place in the league. The Flyers are riding a three-game winning streak, which ties the best streak for UD this year. Dayton is 2-6 in away games this season as well.

Head coach Shauna Green is the reigning A-10 Coach of the Year and is in her third season at the helm of the Flyers. With a 57-24 record at Dayton and three conference titles, expectations are high for the program.

As a team, the Flyers are outscoring opponents by a +8.6 margin and averaging 66.8 points per game. Dayton is shooting 37.7 percent from the floor, 31.9 percent from three-point range, and 68.5 percent from the free throw line. UD also benefits from a +4.7 rebounding margin.

Dayton is led by junior Jayla Scaife, who is averaging 14.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Senior Lauren Cannatelli is adding 12.8 points and shoots 90.1 percent from the free throw line as well.

SCOUTING DUQUESNE
Duquesne enters the weekend with an 11-11 record overall and a 5-4 A-10 mark. The preseason conference favorites have lost three games in a row and are 5-4 at home this season.

Head coach Dan Burt is in his sixth season in charge of the Dukes, but 12th year with the program.

Duquesne averages 62.3 points per game and gives up 63.8 to opponents. The Dukes shoot 37.9 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from behind the arc, and 72.4 percent from the charity stripe.

Leading the Dukes is Kadri-Ann Lass with 11.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting 42.9 percent. Preseason First Team All-Conference performer Chassidy Omogrosso is providing 11.0 points off the bench while Julijana Vojinovic is contributing 10.4 points.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton earned its third-straight win with a 71-50 victory over Richmond Wednesday. The Flyers outscored the Spiders 27-6 in the second quarter en route to a dominating win. Senior Lauren Cannatelli and freshman Kyla Whitehead led the way with 11 points each.

Duquesne played at Massachusetts Thursday and suffered its third straight loss with a 69-66 defeat at UMass. The Dukes were outscored 29-9 in the third quarter after leading at the half. Omogrosso led Duquesne with 23 points.

THE SERIES
Dayton and Duquesne have played 42 times previously with the Flyers having a narrow margin of 22 wins to the Dukes' 20 wins. UD has won the last four meetings, including Jan. 21, 2018 with a 79-70 victory.

STATISTICAL RANKINGS
The Flyers rank fourth in the nation in defensive rebounds per game and lead the A-10 in that category. Dayton also is fifth in the country in three point field goal percentage and leads the conference in rebounds per game. Individually, Lauren Cannatelli leads the A-10 and ranks 13th nationally in free throw percentage.

FLYERS IN REGULAR SEASON LEAGUE PLAY
Dayton has won 96 of its last 117 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.817), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, and includes a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season.

COUNTDOWN FOR CANNATELLI'S CAREER MARK
Senior Lauren Cannatelli is just four made three pointers shy of setting a new school record for made three pointers in a career. Already holding the single game, single season, and career three pointers attempted, Cannatelli will be looking to sweep the three point records in Dayton history. With 240 three's, the Cincinnati native would pass former Flyers Andrea Hoover (2011-15)

COACH GREEN EARNS 50TH WIN AT DAYTON
Dayton head coach Shauna Green earned her 50th win at UD in just two and half seasons with the win over Georgia Tech at the West Palm Beach Invite. Coach Green became the fastest Flyer coach to reach that mark since joining Division I and the fastest overall since Coach Maryalyce Jermiah led the Division II Dayton squad to back-to-back National Championship appearances in 1978-80.

THREE POINTS OF EXCELLENCE
Dayton has hit at least one three-point shot in 557 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. The Flyers made a program-record 15 three-point field goals against Buffalo in the Connecticut World Vision Classic on Nov. 25, 2011. Dayton tied the record with 15 vs. Wright State on Nov. 28, 2012.

PRESEASON POLL
Dayton was picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll behind conference favorites Duquesne. With two first-place votes and 183 points, the Flyers were picked ahead of Fordham, George Washington, and Saint Joseph's.

PRESEASON HONORS
The Atlantic 10 released its preseason all-conference teams and recognized a pair of Flyers as junior Jayla Scaife was named First Team All-Conference as well as All-Defensive Team while senior Lauren Cannatelli was named Second Team All-Conference.

70'S THE MAGIC NUMBER
Since the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 156-18 (.895) when scoring 70 or more points, including 11-1 in 2016-17. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2009-10 when reaching that mark.
