NASHVILLE - The University of Dayton softball team posted an 8-3 win over Alabama A&M Friday night in both teams' first game of the Belmont Bruin Classic. Seniors Kyle Davidson and Lisa Tassi combined for six of the Flyers' 11 hits on the day.

Dayton improves to an even 5-5 on the season while Alabama A&M moves to 8-5 overall.

Winning Pitcher: Jessica Weaver (2-2) - four strikeouts to one walk in 3.0 innings of work
Losing Pitcher: Hansell (2-3) - four earned runs on 11 hits with one strikeout and one walk

KEY STATS
• 11 - the Flyers' 11 hits equals its season high (11 hits vs. Maryland Eastern Shore Feb. 8)
• 3-for-3 - Tassi was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs, one RBI and one sacrifice fly
• 3-for-4 - Davidson also tallied three hits and scored three runs, batted in one run and tallied 10 putouts from behind the plate
• 3 - as a team, Dayton recorded three stolen bases including Davidson - her ninth of the season
