FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The University of Dayton softball team dropped a close 7-6 decision to Syracuse Sunday afternoon in the team's final game of the Colorado State Classic. The Flyers rallied in the seventh inning to pull within one but came up just short.
Dayton is now 7-9 on the season while Syracuse moves to 8-12.

KEY MOMENT
Trailing 7-2 heading to the top of the seventh, Dayton put together a sting of four runs. With two outs and runners on second and third, the Flyers were unable to convert as the Orange held on for the one-run win.

Dayton will return to action on Wednesday with a trip to Richmond, Kentucky, for a doubleheader at Eastern Kentucky. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at EKU's Gertrude Hood Field.
