Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DAYTON -- The University of Dayton men's tennis team was in Chicago this weekend for matches against DePaul and UIC. Dayton split the contests with a 5-2 loss at the hands of DePaul on Friday before bouncing back to finish the weekend on a strong note with a 4-3 win over UIC. The loss to the Blue Demons snapped a six-match winning streak for the Flyers, but the win on Saturday improved the team's record to 11-5 on the year.

Dayton found itself in a hole after dropping the doubles point and splitting the first four completed singles courts. Spencer Richey and Joe DeMarco both won their matches in straight sets on courts No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, but the Flyers still trailed the Flames by a score of 3-2 despite the two wins. Langford Hills came through with a clutch three-set win on court No. 2 to tie up the score at 3-3, leaving the match in the hands of Steven Karl at court five. Karl had just won a deuce point to take a 5-4 lead in the deciding set and just a game away from clinching a team win. As that happened Hills' opponent Niko Wasilewicz was assessed a post-match code violation for not shaking hands, which resulted in the point for the violation carrying over to Karl's court, wrapping up the 6-4 win for Karl and a 4-3 win for Dayton.

The Flyers have two home matches next weekend at the Five Seasons Family Sports Club, including Senior Day on Sunday against Duquesne at 10 a.m. (ET). The weekend action will begin on Saturday against Fordham at 1 p.m. (ET).
