OXFORD, Ohio - The University of Dayton softball team dropped both its games on the second day of the Miami (Ohio) Invitational. Michigan State bested Dayton, 9-1, in six innings followed by a 6-0 loss to Austin Peay this afternoon.
Dayton is now 9-12 on the season.
GAME ONE
Michigan State 9, Dayton 1 (6 inn.)
Winning Pitcher: A. Walker (5-4) - one earned run one five hits with three strikeouts to zero walks (5.0 IP)
Losing Pitcher:
Jessica Gilliam (4-5) - two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts to two walks (5.0 IP)

Winning Pitcher: Rackel (10-5) - zero earned runs on five hits with seven strikeouts to one walk in a complete-game shutout (6.0 IP)

Jessica Weaver (3-4) - six earned runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and three walks (4.2 IP)

Lisa Tassi were 2-for-3 at the plate batting in the one and two spots, respectively
UP NEXT
Dayton has two games remaining in the annual Miami (Ohio) Invitational on Sunday. UD and MSU will square off again at 2:30 p.m. and the Flyers will close out the weekend against the host RedHawks at 5 p.m. All games are being played at Miami Softball Stadium and admission it free.
