ST. LOUIS – The University of Dayton baseball clinched the series win over Saint Louis on Sunday with in an extra innings thriller by a score of 4-2.
Marcos Pujols launched his first career home run, a two-run blast, in the top of the 12th inning to put Dayton in front and the Flyers got 11.2 innings of scoreless relief from RJ Wagner,
Justin Longbrake and
Corey Imbriano on the mound.
The win marked the first time Dayton has won a series over Saint Louis since 2009, when the Flyers swept the Billikens. UD now has a record of 9-11-1 (2-1 A-10), while SLU falls to 11-12 (1-2 A-10) on the year.

KEY MOMENT
Marcos Pujols two-run home run in the top of the 12th put Dayton ahead 4-2 and
Corey Imbriano closed the door with a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom half of the frame.

Bottom 1: Saint Louis 2, Dayton 0
Two singles and a walk loaded the bases with one out loaded the bases with one out to open the bottom of the first, then back-to-back base hits drove in a pair of runs. RJ Wagner came in for Dayton out of the bullpen and recorded two straight outs to get the Flyers out of the jam.

Mitchell Garrity singled through the right side and
Connor Echols reached on a bunt single with both advancing an extra base following a wild throw to try and catch Echols at first to put runners on second and third with no outs.
Eddie Pursinger picked up an RBI when his groundout sent home Garrity from third.

Jay Curtis and
Michael Cleary both singled with one out to put runners on first and second for Dayton.
Connor Wilson came in to pinch run for
Jay Curtis, representing the game-tying run. Wilson would tie up the game when two wild pitches to Takahiro Yamda allowed him to come around to score.
