DAYTON - Behind a career-high 11 strikeouts from senior right-handed pitcher
Jessica Gilliam, the University of Dayton softball team posted a 1-0 victory over Rhode Island Friday at UD Softball Stadium.
Dayton improved to 15-16 on the season and 5-1 in Atlantic 10 action while Rhode Island moved to 11-16 overall and 0-4 in league play.

Winning Pitcher: Gilliam (7-7) - zero earned runs on three hits with 11 strikeouts to one walk (7.0 IP)
Losing Pitcher: Becca Rogers (6-6) - one earned run on four hits with five strikeouts to three walks (6.0 IP)
