Box Score DAYTON -- The University of Dayton men's tennis team defeated Xavier by a score of 4-0 at the Five Seasons Family Sports Club on Saturday afternoon. The win was the fourth straight for the Flyers, who improve their record to 8-4 on the season. Xavier's record now sits at 4-11 following the loss. Dayton has now outscored its last four opponents by a 19-0 margin.
The Flyers established their lead early on with a quick clinch in doubles, as the No. 3 duo Lorenzo Rollahauser and
Parker Banning, along with
Joe DeMarco and
Langford Hills at No. 2, both won their matches by scores of 6-3 and 6-4, respectively.
Three straight-set wins in singles play propelled Dayton to complete the 4-0 sweep.
Spencer Richey finished first at No. 3 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Matthew Graft and
Jordan Benjamin followed with his sixth straight win at No. 1 by a score of 6-2, 6-1 over Brett Winters.
Langford Hills picked up the clincher with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Jack Dykema. Benjamin, Hills and Richey have now combined for a 25-6 record at the top three spots in the singles lineup this spring.
Dayton has two more matches on the schedule this weekend, beginning with a road match at Wright State at 10 a.m. before returning to Five Seasons to take on Wittenberg at 4 p.m. (ET). Look below for full results from Saturday and interviews with
