Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. -- The University of Dayton women's tennis team fell to Richmond on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 4-0 in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 Championships at the USTA National Campus in Orlando. The Flyers finish the season with a 4-21 record, while the Spiders move on to the quarterfinals where they'll take on No. 3 Massachusetts.

Richmond took the doubles point with a pair of 6-1 wins at the top two courts heading into singles play. 

The Spiders doubled their lead when Mattea Kilstofte was forced to retire midway through the second set at No. 1 singles and the lead increased to 3-0 when Lea Owens defeated Mary Brascia by a score of 6-1, 6-0 at court four. The match was clinched at No. 6 when Ana Ramirez won 6-2, 6-2 over Kristina Benjamin.

Kilstofte and Benjamin are the lone seniors from this season's team and the Flyers will return six different players, including four that were in the lineup for the A-10 championships (No. 2 Emily Zargham (R-So.), No. 3 Kelly Pleiman (So.), No. 4 Mary Brascia (Fr.), and No. 5 Natalie Allen (Jr.).
