Box Score ORLANDO -- The University of Dayton men's tennis team defeated No. 5 George Washington in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament by a score of 4-1 on Friday morning. The win sets up a rematch of last year's 2018 championship match against No. 1 VCU. The semifinals will take place on Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m. at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.

Lorenzo Rollhauser and Steven Karl started things strong with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles and both of the top two courts in doubles play were deadlocked at 6-6 heading into a tiebreak. Spencer Richey and Jordan Benjamin finished their match first at the top spot in the lineup with a 7-6 (5) win to seal the opening point of the match.

Langford Hills doubled up Dayton's lead with a straight-set 6-3, 6-4 win over Ryan Navarro at No. 2, but Lorenzo Rollhauser fell at No. 6 to pull George Washington back within one with the score at 2-1. All four remaining courts went to a deciding third set. Jordan Benjamin and Steven Karl both lost their opening set by a 6-3 margin on courts No. 1 and No. 4, respectively, but Benjamin won the second set of his match by a score of 6-4, then convincingly wrapped up the third point of the day for the Flyers with a 6-1 victory in the third set. Karl won each of his next two sets by scores of 7-5 and 6-3 to clinch the win and the spot in the semifinals.
