#UDBASE Wins Series Opener Over St. Bonaventure

The Flyers Are Off To Their Best Start In Conference Play Since 2011

Olean, N.Y. -- The University of Dayton baseball team defeated St. Bonaventure in the series opener with a 9-0 shutout. Dayton is now 15-13-1 (5-2 A-10) this season, while St. Bonaventure drops to 6-14 (3-4 A-10). The Flyers are off to their best start in conference play since 2011. An eight-run second inning, including a grand slam from Eddie Pursinger, sparked the offense, while Hunter Wolfe pitched 6.0 scoreless innings and struck out 10 batters.

KEY MOMENT
Jay Curtis started off the inning with an infield single and Marcos Pujols doubled to put both runners in scoring position. Tate Hagan walked to load the bases and Takahiro Yamada picked up an infield single to drive in Curtis for the first run of the game. Michael Cleary and Benjamin Blackwell both singled and picked up two and one RBIs, respectively.
