DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team started off its series with Fordham strong with a 17-4 win on Thursday afternoon. Dayton maintains its spot in second place in the Atlantic 10 Conference standings and improves its record to 29-22-1 (16-6 A-10), while Fordham drops to 32-22 (13-9 A-10) on the year.

Riley Tirotta loaded the bases with no outs for Dayton and the first Flyer run of the inning came on an
Alex Brickman sac fly.
Jay Curtis then cleared the bases with a three-run home run and
Marcos Pujols made it back-to-back jacks with a solo shot to dead center.
Connor Wilson singled through the right side and
Takahiro Yamada hit the third UD home run of the inning with a bomb to left field.

- Hunter Wolfe picked up his league-high ninth win on the mound with a strong 7.0-inning effort, allowing seven hits, three earned and striking out five with no walks.
- Wolfe's fifth strikeout of the day was No. 430 for Dayton pitchers on the mound this season, setting a new program record for strikeouts in a single season for the pitching staff.
- Alex Brickman (6th), Jay Curtis (3rd), Marcos Pujols (2nd) and Takahiro Yamada (1st) all left the yard with home runs on the day.
- Brickman's home run was his sixth, which ties Eddie Pursinger for a team high mark.
- Brickman also had a team-high four RBI, while Curtis and Yamada had three apiece.
- Connor Echols was a perfect 3-for-3 for a team-high three base hits.
