PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The University of Dayton women's rowing team placed fifth in the team standings at the 2019 Atlantic 10 Rowing Championship. The races were held on Cooper River.

"I'm pleased with how the team did today. We were significantly faster than our seeds," said head coach Mike Wenker.  "It was a good way to end the season. I'm looking forward to next season.

"Our seniors gave us four good years," he added. "It was nice to end on a high note with them."

The V4+ picked up Dayton's first points with a first-place finish in the petite final in a time of 8:49.30. The UD lineup for the V4+ was: Haylee Zigmund, Lauren Jones, Emma Speyer, Angie Loriso, and Sienna McPeek (cox).

The Flyer 2V8+ advanced to the grand final and took sixth place in 7:35.54. The Flyer lineup was: Olivia Atkins (cox), Colleen McDonnell, Grace Yingling, Beth Boehlefeld, Hannah Butler, Anna Benton, Sara McCloud, Sonia Krolak, and Liz DeNardo. 

The final race of the day was the V8+ and the Flyers just missed medals by less than one second. Fordham (6:49.75) edged out UD (6:50.68) at the finish line. UD's V8+ lineup was: Samantha Bauer (cox), Isabelle Blanchard, Elizabeth Hoffman, Casey Becker, Osa Wheeler, Margaret Cahill, Kiley Tempert, Bridget Kallmeyer, and Erin Dwyer.

Dayton senior Kiley Tempert was named to the 2019 A-10 Rowing All-Conference First Team and junior Casey Becker was named Second Team.
