Women's Soccer Battles To 2OT Draw At Xavier

Carly Becker Earned Her First Shutout As A Flyer

CINCINNATI – The University of Dayton women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 double overtime tie at Xavier Thursday night. The Flyers are now 1-1-1 this season while the Musketeers remain unbeaten at 2-0-1.

KEY STATS
• Dayton outshot Xavier 13-8, including 6-2 on goal. The Flyers also had seven cornerkicks to just four for Xavier.
• The Flyers committed 10 fouls, while the Musketeers had 13.
• Carly Becker earned her first shutout as a Flyer.

KEY MOMENTS
• Becker made key saves early in the match on Xavier breakaways to salvage the shutout.
• The Flyer defense of Lexy Kidd, Jordan Pauley, Tiana Bucknor, Audrey Steiert, and Mackenzie Lutz held Xavier to just one shot in the two overtime periods.
• Jordan Pauley almost put away a goal to the upper 90 in the 66th minute on a free kick, but the Xavier keeper got her fingertips on the ball to push it over the crossbar.
• Laney Huber had one of Dayton's best chances in the 83rd minute of the match.
